Data stored on your devices

Open Habit stores Habits, Completions, Day Notes, categories, settings, local recovery backups, and synchronization history in the app’s local container. You can export your data as JSON and delete app data from Settings.

iCloud

When iCloud is available, Open Habit uses Apple CloudKit to synchronize your data through your private iCloud database. Apple processes that data under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. The developer does not use it for advertising, analytics, or profiling.

Shared Habits

When you create or join a Shared Habit, its common definition, Member Names, Member Colors, and Completion counts are stored in CloudKit and made available to the people invited to that Shared Habit. Day Notes, categories, settings, and unrelated Habits are not included. Members can leave, the Owner can remove Members, and the Owner can stop sharing.

Data collection

Open Habit contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. The developer does not receive your Habit data through the app and does not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

App data remains on your devices and in iCloud until you delete it, remove the app and its data, leave or stop a Shared Habit as applicable, or use Delete All Data in Settings. Changes and deletions synchronize through iCloud. Exported files remain wherever you choose to save them and are under your control.

Support

Information you choose to send when requesting support is used only to respond to that request. Do not send Habit exports or other sensitive information unless it is necessary to resolve your request.

Changes

This policy may be updated when Open Habit’s data practices change. The effective date above will be updated with the policy.
